
The 2026 Hawai‘i Adaptive Surfing Championships (HASC) return to Waikīkī from May 5–8, bringing adaptive surfers from around the world to Queen’s Surf Break for one of the sport’s most inspiring and celebrated competitions.
This internationally recognized event is a key stop on the Association of Adaptive Surfing Professionals World Tour, showcasing world‑class talent across multiple divisions.
Festivities begin with the Opening Ceremony on May 4 at 5:00 PM at the Duke Kahanamoku Statue, welcoming athletes and the community into a week grounded in aloha and inclusion.
Competition days run May 5–8, with daily call at 8:00 AM as athletes prepare to take on Waikīkī’s iconic waves. The event culminates on Finals Day, May 8, followed by an Awards Ceremony honoring outstanding performances.
This year introduces an exciting new chapter: a friendly inter‑resort rivalry between ʻAlohilani Resort Waikiki Beach and Twin Fin Waikiki. Each property fields a four‑athlete team, with points tallied throughout the week to determine the 2026 champion.

As part of the week‑long celebration, ʻAlohilani Resort Waikiki Beach will host a special Movie Night on May 6 at the Swell Pool Deck, featuring “The Incredible Paulk”; a documentary on adaptive surfer and ‘Alohilani team member Aaron Paulk. This screening is open to the public and offers an inspiring look into the dedication and spirit behind adaptive surfing. (A separate event listing will highlight this screening.)
